Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar (plus 2 tbsp for filling)
- 1 cup whole milk
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries (chopped)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, ½ cup sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and softened butter; mix until combined and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling by mixing 2 tbsp sugar with cinnamon and chopping strawberries.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread softened butter, sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture, and evenly distribute chopped strawberries.
- Roll tightly from one end into a log shape, slice into equal portions (about an inch thick), and place in a greased baking dish.
- Let rise again for another half hour while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Mix powdered sugar with milk for glazing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
