  • 2 lbs fresh ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (or 2 tbsp dried basil)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the tomatoes.
