  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Mix sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let them sit to release their juices.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Stir in milk until just combined; knead gently on a floured surface. Roll out dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into circles.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. While biscuits cool, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  6. Slice biscuits horizontally. Layer strawberries and whipped cream between biscuit halves; drizzle with strawberry syrup if desired.
