  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-seasoned)
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, pork sausage, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Smoke the meatballs for about 1 hour or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. While smoking, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning; simmer until thickened.
  6. Toss smoked meatballs in the sauce before serving.
