Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Italian sausage (spicy or mild)
- 1 cup bell peppers (mixed red and green, sliced)
- 1 cup yellow onions (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the sliced bell peppers and onions until softened (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, brown the crumbled sausage over medium-high heat until fully cooked (about 6–8 minutes).
- Combine the cooked sausage with the sautéed vegetables in a bowl. Stir in Italian seasoning and shredded mozzarella.
- Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Place the sausage mixture down the center.
- Fold over the dough to enclose the filling, pinching seams tightly to seal. Transfer to a lined baking sheet and make slits on top for steam release.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
