  • 4 cups stale French bread or brioche (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an oven-safe baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, heavy cream, eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, gently folding to coat all pieces.
