- 4 large Yukon Gold potatoes (about 2 lbs), thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
- Thinly slice the Yukon Gold potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Add heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; stir until warmed through.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the prepared dish. Pour half of the creamy mixture over them, followed by half of the cheese. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for about ten minutes before serving.
