- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 medium fresh apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Thinly slice the apple.
- Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the cheddar cheese, followed by apple slices, dried cranberries, and the remaining cheese. Top with the other slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet (butter side down). Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich carefully using a spatula and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Let cool slightly before slicing in half and serve warm.
