- 1 package (16 oz) phyllo dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup crushed walnuts (or pistachios)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup honey (plus extra for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Thaw phyllo dough according to package instructions.
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter. Layer individual sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter until you have about six layers.
- Sprinkle half of the crushed walnuts over the top layer of phyllo.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add honey and mix well.
- Pour half of the cheesecake filling over phyllo base and spread evenly. Add another layer of phyllo brushed with butter and remaining walnuts before topping with the rest of the filling.
- Finish with several more layers of phyllo brushed with butter on top. Bake for about 60 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before drizzling with additional honey.
