Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and pit the cherries, chopping half into small pieces and leaving the other half whole.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and whole milk until well blended.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar and salt until fully dissolved.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Gently fold in both chopped and whole cherries until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes). If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour into a shallow dish, freeze, stirring every half hour until set.
