  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 cups stale bread (cubed, such as French baguette or challah)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers (mixed colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess grease.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer cubed bread in the greased baking dish, followed by cooked sausage, bell peppers, and half of the cheddar cheese. Pour egg mixture over everything and top with remaining cheese.
