  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C) and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with half the sugar until smooth. Add milk and lemon juice; mix well.
  3. 3. In another bowl, whisk eggs with the remaining sugar until pale and fluffy.
  4. 4. Gently fold the egg mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  5. 5. Sift flour into the batter and fold until no dry bits remain.
  6. 6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and place it in a larger baking dish filled with hot water to create steam.
