  • 10 cups popcorn kernels (popped)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn according to package instructions and set aside in a large bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Stir until melted into a smooth caramel sauce (about 5 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the warm caramel over the popcorn and gently mix until evenly coated.
  5. With slightly damp hands, shape the mixture into balls about the size of golf balls and place them on parchment paper to cool.
  6. Allow to set at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes before serving.
