Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm, then combine it with yeast and a tablespoon of sugar. Let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt; create a well in the center.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs into the well. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, diced apples, and melted butter in a bowl.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread apple filling evenly over dough; roll tightly into log shape and cut into 12 rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. For frosting, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
