  • 1 pound pork meat
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage 
  • 1 tablespoons chicken stock
  • 1/2 tablespoons cornflower
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white paper
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers 
  • Some ginger
  • A little bit of salt

Lets Start Cooking Required for Australian Dim Sim Recipe

Step 1: Add salt with cabbage

First add some salt with cabbage to break the cabbage down, make it nice and soft and it’s also going to add a more seasoned flavor to our filling.

I like to use a portion of meat that’s hand minced, so I’ve got some pork belly here.

Step 3: Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine pork meat, cabbage, chicken stock, cornflower, sugar, white pepper and ginger. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until evenly combined.

Step 4: Wrapped Wonton

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean work surface. Spoon about 2 teaspoons of the pork mixture onto the center of the wrapper. Now take a wonton wrapper like the simplest kind of dumpling to fold.

There is just something so beautiful about it anyway let’s get these steamed in a steamer pot. These will take around 12 minutes and come back.

Now a little sprinkling of spring onion, some chili for like a pop of color and  serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips and tricks:

  1. If you wanted another option for proteins here you could do chicken mince that works really well too.
  2. For extra flavor, mix the filling ingredients together with a few tablespoons of soy sauce and a few tablespoons of sesame oil. 
  3. To make the wrappers stretchy and easier to handle, dip your fingers in boiling hot water before handling the wrappers.
